Fragments Series Progress in the form of change can be constant, subjective, and illusory, particularly in an urban context. My "Fragments" series depicts urban evolution and was conceived in the summer of 2009 as I watched from my studio window the demolition of the historic WBBM/CBS Radio and Television Building. While historic, it was an unattractive building that did not find a voice raised to prevent the wrecking ball from creating an empty lot. Now, one year later, the lot is still empty and carpeted with brick and debris. The city is ready for something new: progress? It may depend on which "fragments" we are looking at.
